Geekman's World

While September proved to be one of the slowest months in recent memory for comic books, October is shaping up to be one of the biggest. Between Marvel’s Secret Wars tie-ins, new number ones, and Star Wars books, this may prove to be one of the bigger comic book months for this publisher.

Just think about it, we have Amazing Spider-Man, which is a proven seller, a Jason Aaron/Chris Bachelo collaboration with Doctor Strange (jump on this one now, folks; when the movie comes out, this may be a hot commodity), and a Bendis-led Iron Man book outside of the already insane-selling Star Wars titles. Add to that the next core Secret Wars book is out too. While Marvel may be fumbling with the Secret Wars event in general (read: all of the delays), ultimately, this may prove to be a smart decision in the long run. But really only time can tell.

This is going to be a great week with a ton of comics. I’m looking forward to reading each one.
