Rebels #4

Rebels has been a great read. Brian Wood put out an awesome run on X-Men and Star Wars (Dark Horse) not long ago. To see his newest book, a creator owned book nonetheless, not only meet but exceed my expectations is amazing. If you’re a fan of American history, you will surely love this book. And what better time to read it so soon after July 4th?

Batman #42

I am in total Batman mode right now. I’ve put tons of time in Arkham Knight and am so close to beating it. Needless to say, I am stoked to get my dose of Batman this week from the all star duo of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo. If you haven’t read or are not familiar with this team’s Batman run…are you even a comic book fan? Seriously, this is arguably the best title pound for pound out there. And with the recent End Game arc over, this (spoilers) post-Batman world is interesting as all get out.

Injustice Gods Among Us Year 4 #5

Speaking of Batman, this series just gets crazier and crazier. I’ve said this many times before and I’ll say it again, this book is not just a bad video game tie in, it is a worthy book all on its own and arguably better than the video game it was predicated on. If you’re stoked for Batman V Superman, look no farther than this.

Descender #5

What can I say? I’m a Jeff Lemire fan. If you are too, you’re probably reading this book. And you’re probably just as high on it as I am. If you’re not a Lemire fan or are unfamiliar with his work, now is a good time to jump on an awesome, creator owned series.

Injection #3

Speaking of awesome creator owned series, Warren Ellis and Declan Shalvey are at it again with a weird new book. The jury is still out on this one for me, so tread carefully. I’d wait for the trade before going in on this one.

Walking Dead #144

Wow. That’s all I could say after last issue’s stunning cliffhanger. If you thought things were getting old with there not really being any zombies in the book, you are going to be happy here. What a great, enduring series. The Kirkman/Adlard/Gaudiano team is on top of their game here.

Amazing Spider-Man Renew Your Vows #2

This is the core Spidey book out now and it has the all star team of Dan Slott and Adam Kubert. Where you thought things were going all Brand New Day on us, things turned around and gave us something totally out of the blue and awesome. Don’t skip out on this if you’re a Spider-Man fan just because of the title of the book.

Star Wars Lando #1

A Lando book written by Charles Soule? Sign me up! I really, really hope this book comes out as awesome as it sounds.

Well that’s all I have this week. What are you planning on reading? Strange Fruit.
