The Pull – 10-2-13
Here is my pull for this week:
Movement #5
Swamp Thing #24
Trillium #3
All New X-Men #17
Marvel Knights Spider-Man #1
Mighty Avengers #2
Savage Wolverine #9
Superior Foes of Spider-Man #4
DC Villains month is over and I’m happy about that. Although the stories that I read were underwhelming for the most part, this diversion was exactly what was expected and nothing more. In a way, it was nice to get a break from the norm, try something a little different. But now that it’s over, I can’t welcome that norm back more enough. I can’t leave this subject, though, without mentioning my favorite book of this event, Swamp Thing #23.1. The Arcane issue actually fit into the current continuity which was awesome. Not to mention the art was fantastic. And the fact that we are getting Swamp Thing again this week makes things all the more better.
Oh yeah, there is this book out this week called Trillium and it is on its third issue. Get it. That’s all I need to say about that one.
On the Marvel side, there are some great reads to be had. First off, All New X-Men continues one of my favorite story lines with Battle of the Atom. That event has turned out to be a fantastic read. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book in the arc each week.
Staying with the X-Men theme, Savage Wolverine hits the shelves after a stunningly beautiful issue drawn by Joe Madureira. Who would want to follow that act? And who can? Nobody…unless your name is Jock. Yep. You need to get this one.
Finally, Superior Foes of Spider-Man. What a surprisingly great book. At the end of the year, I might find myself hard pressed to find a book that will take my “Best New Series” award other than this one.
Happy reading.
